Looking After Your Face with Cosmetics
from:Around 4000 BC, ancient Romans and Greeks used cosmetics that often contained poisonous lead and mercury. In the middle ages in the western world, the upper classes used cosmetics. Nowadays, cosmetics are safe and anyone can use them. People want to look their best every day and cosmetics certainly help because cosmetics and makeup can hide small imperfections while still allowing their natural beauty to shine. Some women use the same old favorite lotions and creams they always have while others spend hundreds of dollars monthly looking for miracle cosmetics that turn back time and make them look twenty years younger. The first consideration of anyone that wants beautiful, healthy looking skin is cleansing his or her face properly using the correct products. Always buy cleansers made specifically for your particular skin type as some people have combination skin, while others have dry or oily skin. You should never use soap on your face regardless of your skin type. Most soap, even specialty brands, contains perfumes, detergents, and other ingredients that can irritate your skin and upset your facial skins acidic balance and it does not remove cosmetics such as mascara properly.
Lotions, milks, and cream cosmetics are ideal for removing makeup along with cleansing the skin and are available for all skin types. The oil content in skin cleansing products dissolves dirt but does not leave damaging residue behind. Skin creams you apply and remove using a cotton ball or tissues are excellent for dry skin because they do leave moisturizer on the skin. Cleansing wipes remove grime and makeup quickly and conveniently with ones made specifically for people with sensitive skin. After using cleansing cosmetics, use a toner to remove any traces of dirt, makeup, or the cleanser. Toners have an astringent effect because they contain alcohol but if your face feels tight or dry after using the toner, switch to a gentler one. Dry skin toners contain very little alcohol while oily skin toners contain the most. ---
Moisturizing plays such an important part in having soft, healthy skin. Regardless of your skin type, whether dry, oily, or a combination, it requires moisturizer. Moisturizers are cosmetics designed to replace and prevent skin moisture loss due to environmental causes such as pollution, the cold, and sun. Always use moisturizing cosmetics that contain a sunscreen or UV filter to protect your skin from the damaging rays of the sun. Put sunscreen on all parts of the body exposed to sunlight, not just your face. Drink from eight to ten glasses of water daily along with using moisturizing cosmetics to keep your skin looking fresh and younger.
